Chameleon Housing

Specialist Homeless Service

Welcome to Chameleon Housing

We are a specialist homeless service and cater for both male and female residents aged 16-25 years old. In some circumstances we may support young people under 16 years of age to ensure their immediate welfare and safety. Periods of stay are assessed on a needs basis. Chameleon Housing supports a large number of people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Referral process is strictly by phone or email only.

Our programs

The I CaN HOPe Program – Indigenous Chameleon and Ngarrama Housing Opportunities Program has been developed in partnership between Chameleon Housing and Ngarrama, a free antenatal, birthing and postnatal service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families who choose to birth at the Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospitals. Chameleon Housing will provide the accommodation support to families in the Ngarrama program who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The goal of the program will be for the family to transition into long term independent accommodation through the Department of Housing or the independent market. Chameleon Housing provides the family with a fully furnished house and case management support. The Ngarrama service offers advanced Indigenous Health Workers (Maternal and Infant Health) for up to six weeks after birth.
Cook book from the Heart of the Community

Whats your favourite meal?

Chameleon House and our friends in the Community have compiled a few of our favourites to produce a cook book suitably named Home Cooking from the Heart of the Community.

Some of our young people have added their favourites that they have cooked and perfected as part of our living skills program. All recipes are nutritious and easy to follow.

If you would like to purchase a copy please call 32844805. Cost $20 which goes towards program costs.
